Job Description :
Local manufacturing facility looking to fill multiple roles immediately! 

 

Shifts available:



  • 1st Shift                 Monday – Friday, 6 am – 2:30 pm

  • 2nd Shift                Monday – Friday, 2:20 pm – 10:50 pm

  • 2nd Shift                Monday – Friday, 1:20 – 9:50 pm (Fill Off Only)

  • 3rd Shift                Sunday – Thursday, 9:30 pm – 6 am


Positions available:

 

QC Bench Tech


Assists with application and monitoring of established quality procedures and methods for production batches and new raw materials.  Compiles, tabulates and summarizes QC data for analysis.  Prepares and communicates variables and deviations from prescribed standards of quality.  Maintains statistical records having to do with quality, nature and causes of defects in D365.  Expedites and follows up changes to allow for prescribed quality standards.




Proficient math and written communication skills as well as knowledge of Excel required. Up to three years in industry related QC field helpful, prior batchmaking experience helpful.


 


PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.



  • Check production batches by comparison to standards

  • Advise batchmaker of any necessary adjustments to apply to product batch

  • Recheck batch after adjustments are made until product is within standard product specifications

  • Use proper analytical tools to compare product to standard specifications and to wet and/or dry samples

  • Record results of comparison in D365

  • Consult with QC manager on products more than 10% out of product specifications

  • Upon approval of product record data in D365

  • Check bulk raw materials against standard product specifications upon receipt

  • Consult Quality control manual for specific requirements for product analysis of production batches as well as raw materials

  • Calibrate QC/QA equipment as required

  • Keep and maintain a clean and safe work area

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager


Valve Pen Machine Operator


Valve Pen machine operator is responsible for setting up Valve Pen machine for operation and running pen batches per batch ticket instructions.



PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



  • Select and load components into valve pen machine as determined by batch ticket.

  • Match production batch to standard to assure accurate production.

  • Oversee machine operation to complete batch production.

  • Confirm proper label application procedures.

  • Follow schedule board and maintain a pace set by schedule on machine.

  • Perform routine machine maintenance and make minor mechanical adjustments or repairs as needed.

  • Keep machine and work area neat and clean.


Kit Assembler-Custom Kits



Assemble components into kits and apply outer labeling as instructed on batch ticket.  Pack completed kits as instructed for transfer to Distribution Center.




PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.



  • Locate all components for kit assembly

  • Apply any needed labeling to kit components

  • Assemble components into kits with appropriate inserts and labels

  • Box kits into main kit box

  • Seal main kit box and apply appropriate labeling for transfer to Distribution Center

  • Prepare batch ticket with appropriate information


Extruder Operator



Operate extruder to form sheets of pre-matched wax into round sticks for packaging.  Tend machine throughout process and prepare machine for new batches.




PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



  • Follow “Start-up Procedure” to prepare extruder for operation

  • Prepare sheets of pre-matched wax to be formed in extruder

  • Feed wax into extruder and assure proper machine extrusion, with regard to color, texture and length of completed stick

  • Have sample sticks approved by QC before continuing process

  • Perform appropriate cleaning procedures between batches

  • Maintain clean work area


Blister Pack Machine Operator/Packager       


Responsible for operating blister pack machine. Blisters pens and fil-sticks onto cards based on supplied pack orders.  Perform minor machine maintenance and report any problems to appropriate lead and/or supervisors. 




PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.



  • Understand the blister pack machine and its functioning ability.

  • Follow order instructions explicitly to assure proper product and packaging.

  • Make minor machine adjustments to assure quality and maintain productivity.

  • Assure quality appearance of finished packaging

  • Maintain neat and orderly work area.


Tank/Vat Cleaner




Cleans interior of batch processing tanks and vats to remove residue left after batches are filled off into containers.  Maintain used “wash” drums and account for used cleaning solvent (wash).




PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.



  • Drain tank/vat of remaining batch material

  • Scrape and/or scrub interior of tank/vat to remove residue

  • Use appropriate cleaning solvent to clean tank/vat

  • Remove residue and cleaning solvent from tank/vat with squeegees, pump and/or suction hoses

  • Dry tank/vat

  • Inspect tank/vat to ensure no chance of contamination before authorizing tank/vat for use

  • Empty used cleaning solvent into appropriate used wash drum

  • Maintain used wash drum area by tracking amount of wash in drum and replacing filled drums

  • Apply proper labeling to empty wash drums to prepare for use

  • Maintain log of used cleaning solvents (wash)

  • Assist in Filling area as needed

  • Maintain neat and orderly work area


Fill-Off Attendant



Fill completed batches into appropriate containers or onto tanker for shipping purposes, following appropriate procedures for different fill-off methods as indicated on batch ticket.  Seal and apply appropriate labeling to containers as indicated on batch tickets.  Move finished goods to finished goods warehouse for shipping.




PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.



  • Locate appropriate vat to be filled off per batch ticket instructions

  • Pre-mix material in vat before filling

  • Locate appropriate materials (containers, strainers, equipment, etc.) used for filling, as indicated by batch ticket, and in fill-off manuals

  • Always bond and ground containers before filling

  • Obtain retain per instructions in fill-off procedures. Labels retain as directed by QC department

  • Complete fill-off procedure

  • Clean vat and equipment using appropriate cleaning solution indicated on batch ticket

  • Make proper notations on batch ticket regarding fill-off

  • Apply appropriate labeling as instructed on batch ticket

  • Move finished goods to warehouse if necessary

  • Maintain neat and orderly work area


Filling Line Operator



Selects proper product, containers, labeling, etc., per order information, and sets up filling line for production.  Performs routine maintenance and makes mechanical or electrical adjustments or repairs to production line machines.  Consults experienced mechanic for more difficult jobs or more sophisticated equipment maintenance.  Requires some direct supervision.




PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.



  •  Selects proper product and all proper filling items such as cans, lids, labels, etc., per order instructions

  • Sets up all equipment on filling line

  • Changes line set-up for all orders.

  • Responsible for final count on product and fill rates.

  • Perform routine maintenance and make minor mechanical or electrical adjustments or repairs to production line machinery.


Stain Batchmaker


Mixes chemicals, dry resins and nitrocellulose in the process of making lacquer’s, sealers and thinners used in the furniture industry.


Mixes different colors and bases in several different resin systems and tint them to match color standards provided by QA Lab.




PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.



  • Measure and weigh specified quantities of solvent and dry resins into proper blending tank according to formula sheet

  • Match colors to standards provided by QA Lab by tinting products with tint colors specified on formula sheet

  • Take products to QA Lab for QC checks and make final adjustments 

  • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly fashion


Dispersion Batchmaker




Mix solvents and dry chemicals in the process of making dispersion batches according to instructions on batch ticket.




PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.



  • Weigh and/or measure specific quantities of varying type of ingredients in proper sequence and proportions

  • Tend mixing or compounding equipment and maintain desired control over time, heat, pressure, color or other variables. 

  • May perform blending, filtration, drying, grinding or other related operations. 

  • May test according to prescribed procedures and specifications. 

  • Maintain batch, time weight, color, pressure, heat production and/or other records as required. 

  • Take products to QA Lab for QC checks and make final adjustments 

  • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly fashion


Clearside Batch Maker



Weigh and/or measure specific quantities of varying types of ingredients in proper sequence and proportions, according to written formulas, tend blending equipment and maintain desired control over time, heat and other variables.  Obtains raw material for use in formulas.




PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.



  • Weigh and/or measure out quantities of solvent and dry resins into proper blending tank according to formula sheet

  • Select vat appropriate vat as indicated by batch size on formula sheet

  • Load batch as instructed on formula sheet, following specific instructions for either pumping or manual load procedures.

  • Take batch sample to QA Lab for QC checks and make final adjustments

  • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly fashion

The work environment is representative of those an employee would encounter in a normal paint manufacturing facility.  The employee is exposed to solvent vapors at well below the OSHA permissible exposure limit and when required, adequate personal protective equipment is required.
